the same stand is marketed under a range of names, including Edinburgh Bicycle Coop's own Revolution brand, which is currently 50 quid

http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/products/revolution-tune-up-workstand

so same price as merlin after their checkout discount, but Merlin are throwing a multi tool into the bargain.

Not the sturdiest/stiffest but have had mine maybe 2 years and can't fault it for the price, it holds my 30+lb bike fine.

same basic stand as the Minouras, but the clamp on the Minouras are better.

I gave my Minoura RS5000 away as I didn't think it stable enough - although put some sandbags over the legs and it would be.

Happy Feedback user now.

Just bought this for £35 and so far am very happy with it:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261011227165?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Flexible with brace to secure bar, with QR in several spots. Wobbles a bit when to spin wheels but I'd expect that. Could secure 4 base struts better if it was real problem. Very fast delivery.

How did I clag on with Workmates for 10 years??

Had one like the OP links too - found the whole plastic head flexed when clamping a bike by the seatpost and when testing out brakes the whole bike would pitch around. Hated it.

Have one like that last ebay link but from Lidl. The clamp is rubbish but I keep meaning to make something better. The legs etc are very stable but as it's a 4 leg it's not good on uneven ground and takes up a lot more room as it won't sit flush against a wall.

Next time I get a Park PCS10 or Feedback Sports one as a good stand is one you use all the time. A rubbish one won't get used.

Agree with most. Had one two years ok for ave work but does flex a little and doesn't hold the bike very tight. But for 50 you pays your money and takes your choice.. For most average home mechs it's adequate.
As for mine it's going very soon, feedback pro is the only option. But as you can guess it ain't £50.

I've got one, absolutely love it.
My previous stand was a plank balanced on a wheelie bin.
To me this is utter luxury.
Holds my trance by seat post fine wheels spinning or not.
Comes fully built with quick release all over.
Defo recommend.

I've had one of the ones in the OPs link for years now, very happy with it. Never had issues with stability, and I use it in an uneven sloping alleyway.
