i have a meta 5.5.3 2009

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/commencal/meta-553-2009-mountain-bike-ec017320?utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=awin&promo=Content

and want to put an axle in the rear wheel in order to add some stiffness.

in the manual it says that is accepts 10mm x 135 or 12mm x 135.

it also has the dropouts.

so do i need a 10mm or a 12mm hub?

which of these two rear hubs would you reccommend?

I ride the same. Currently upgraded both wheels to Hope Pro II (excellent build, completely serviceable, loads of adapters). I'm going to run a 9mm thru axle on the front and a 12mm thru rear.

I only just found out that rear qr is 10mm anyway (thought it was 9mm like the front) so the dropouts can be left in for a 10mm thru conversion. A 12mm setup will need the corresponding dropouts of course.

I considered 10mm thru rear and thought I may as well go the whole hog; I'll only end up doing it eventually anyway! I've got my wheels off the classifieds here: £52 front, £85 rear but I need to get adapters, axle for the rear hub and thru axles for both. I like the look of the non QR rear 12mm on superstar's site 54g! They'll get some in mid next month.

i think that the front hub that has the bike from the factory (commencal hub) takes an axle.

do you know?
