Hi there, could anyone tell me what length bolts I need for an avid post mount cps adapter? As I'm changing the front from 160 to 180mm ? I have managed to get the adapter but I just need the correct size bolts and wondered if I can purchase them quite easily ??

They're standard metric socket caps. However, if you're talking about a post mount fork, the length varies with adaptor. Offer up the parts to work out the shaft length required.

While I've never seen it done, I've heard of people cranking overlong bolts in too hard/far and wrecking their forks. As with any bolt, if you start feeling excess resistance back off and work out what's wrong. Not sure if there;s a specific standard depth to the internal PM thread.

I'm sure there's a good resource somewhere but Avid bolt lengths and CPS washers seem to be a bit of a black art. I got caught out with a 185 rotor a while ago. The required CPS washers were a little longer than the 180/160 ones which seem to have the same stack height...

Cheers guys !
Hopefully my friend is popping around tomorrow with a big box of bolts !!
Hopefully we can find some that fit correctly, as I don't want to over crank and damage my forks !!
