After some fast rolling, light but robust tyres, that grip, if that ain't a Bontrager paradox of course, any recommendations?
Contis Mrs TJ used a set on her commuter. two punctures in 3000 miles and each time tyre and tube replaced free. Considering its on a cycleway with frequent broken glass I was well impressed. Each week we would pick several shards of glass out of the tyres.
Highly reccomended. They do similar with more or less offroad bias
Schwalbe Marathon Plus is a great puncture resistant tyre-best there is.
Thing is-it weighs a ton from the protection layer.
I rather have a heavy tyre than punctures on my commute in the rain etc.
This isn't a commute though, this will be on fireroads in places such as Hafren Forest and NyA - Microsoft UK Challenge
Will be sprinting between checkpoints so resilience & lightness probably over grip would be good.
