Hmm, I see. I'd prefer a Grid version over DH.

Graves and Keene have been running Grid Hillbillys throughout the EWS so they definitely exist. Not sure when they'll be on the market though.

the Maxxis SHorty is a pretty much identical tyre, have you thought about that?

Specialized product development:
1) Make Hillbilly DH, first pre-cut spike. It's awesome
2) Nothing at all
3) Everyone else makes a pre-cut spike that's just as awesome or awesomer
4) Specialized go "that's a good idea"

I'm the same waiting for the 650b version. Love the 29er one on my hardtail

Its all a bit meaningless. I have a 2.5" Maxxis "Wide Trail" up front now, and it's basically a 2.35" Schwalbe, and I would guess these 2.6 Specialized will be about the same. These are slight variations, not new standards.

More choice is all good, though

Are they going to make the Storm in a Grid version, and a bit wider than 2.0? That would be nice.
