Anyone got one of these?
Do they work? Wear out? How loud are they?
Been using one for a while now. No appreciable wear in c.400 miles. Noise akin to reeling in a spinner with a fixed spool reel (ie. not too loud, and not clicky like a freehub)

Good at keeping the chain on the front over rocky stuff in my opinion, but absolutely useless in clag like this lower picture however, blocking up and causing chain to bunch up ahead of the guide (monster chain suck). That was an XC race in awful conditions.

I'd advise fitting it with extra cable ties - I bust the rear of the fitting during the race only using two. I put a small folded-up piece of old inner tube under the mid-section to allow the alloy part of the guide to still swing when adding two cable ties around the middle bit. (So four in total now). They give you a spare plastic mounting barrel, but I'm still running the original as it wasn't totally shagged.
Seems quite expensive for what it is, but what cost on avoiding that 'kneecap into the shifter' or 'foot off the pedal/pedal pins in the shin' scenarios eh?
Yeah they work well.
There is a neat video showing what they do here... Bionicon c.guide
