Looking at bodging an internal Installation on my canyon non di 2 frame.
The key difference between the di2 and mechanical version is the size of the cable ports. The cable end will absolutely not go through the mechanical cable port hole, however it should be easy enough to split and rejoin the cable if required. That leaves the question of whether the thin part of the cable (not the plug bit) will get through the holes.
Obviously I'm not wanting to buy a new cable and cut it In two to find out, so if someone has a broken one kicking about I can have for price of postage I'd be eternally grateful
