I've always wanted to ride my trackbike from the centre of Town to the top of Outlane. For some of you on here that would be easy. However for me, its a real challenge? Its a 16T rear (cant remember what the front is, 36?- its big anyway).

I reckon the hardest part would be from Town to Marsh.

Come on, can I do it? How hard is it on a singlespeed? Going to do it tonight...

It should be fairly easy. Warm up well beforehand or that first hill will drain you too much. ๐Ÿ™‚

I could probably do it with my 42/25 gear on my road bike, and I am so unfit it would make you weep.

Why not ride along over Nettleton Hill, down Clough road into Slaithwaite (mega steep!) then into town to start. Circular ride which should warm you up for the big ascent. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have managed to ride up Clough Road without stopping, once, it's very painful but very rewarding when you manage it.

Let me know how you got on. I might be able to join you one day if you were up for it.

Will do. I guess the key is smooth, slow- and even tempo
