Any riders from last year?
I've entered the Sportive mainly because I've trained a lot on hills and recovery so I'm going to attempt a flying lap without stopping. I think hanging around at the top of a timed descent waiting to get your breath back before starting seems a little 'cheaty'...

I think I'll be entering, will certainly be having a breather before the stages though ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I've entered it as an enduro. I have no desire to do the whole route as fast as I possibly can 8)

I did it last year (enduro). Fantastic weekend.

I did the whole route on the Saturday practice which in hindsight probably wasnt the best thing to do. Lots of people racing the enduro just rode the quickest route between the 4 stages on the Saturday practice in order to conserve energy for the Sunday.

It was mega windy too, like properly windy! At one point you could hardly push your bike let alone ride it. It was like flying a giant bike kite!

The stages themself were really creative. Nothing like anything else I have ridden.

Enduro here too - as has been said, I have no desire to race round a 25 mile circuit and tire myself out for the downhills

I intend to treat it as a good ride and saunter casually round the majority of the distance and blast down the downhills. Will be there on Saturday for the practice lap to see what the stages are like, and to camp overnight and have a few bevvies with mates

After 20 year out from proper racing,i thought its time to try one of these 'modern' ones..sharp rocks and sheep sound appealing....

Yes, entered the enduro. I know some of the route pretty well. ..the rest I'll have to just do my best. No practice runs on the Saturday for me as it's my wedding day. A hungover enduro should be fun......

Entered today and roped some mates in! Heard great reviews from last year
Swaledale is on my doorstep and offers some of the best riding in Yorkshire- IMO

Deveron53, you'll have to wait anyway, unless you are first out and a XC flying machine, there will be queues at every stage, and you can't just go to the front, as they give everyone a 30 second gap.

If the route goes up Fremington edge it will seperate the xc whippets from the rest of us!

Yep, entered this year. Give me a good reason to keep fit on my annual UK trip.

Anybody got a Strava or gpx route of last year's? Just so I know what I'm up against! I was thinking of going out hard and fast at 10am and trying to get to the top of the first descent pretty early. After that as long as I keep a decent pace I should be reasonably clear of the enduro riders... That's the plan anyway!

sportive riders all go before the enduro riders anyway, so it'll only be other whippets that will hold you back
