Are they as good as the reviews reckon? How do they size compared to freeriders? Narrow or wide?
Worth £75 or just get some more freerider pro's?

I got a pair, liked them so much that I’ve now got 2 pairs on the go.

I’ve just chucked my old Freeriders, from memory the fit is pretty similar (not particularly narrow or wide). I’m usually a 42, and the same when buying Specialized shoes

I’ve used 5.10s for goodness knows how many years. The Roosts are the first shoe I’ve found that match (maybe exceed) them. Certainly worth £75 imo

Nearly made virtually the same thread myself!

What's the toe protection like? I'm a current freerider pro user, and they are quite good toe area protection.

Wondering if the new 2FO DH variety would be better?

I went from freeriders and they are better in almost every way. Grippier, more comfortable, ligther, don't hold water when they get wet, etc. etc.

They are legitimately the first non 5-10 I have bought that I would happily buy again over any past or present 5-10’s.

They out grip them now & outlast them in the sole. I think the pair I have been using have lasted twice as long as the last pair of freerider pro’s I used.

It’s also getting increasingly difficult with 5-10 to work out which grade of rubber they are using on the soles of certain models. The Freerider Pro Primes for example, use the hard compound sole, so feel like crap in terms of grip.

I concur with all of the above, grippy and dry quickly compared with 5-10 sponges!

I've kicked a few rocks and not damaged any of my little piggies yet.

I've only deviated from 5-10 once before for a pair of OWN FR-01 and went back after a couple of months.

I don't think i'll be going back to 5-10 anymore!

Any reason to go for (or not) the canvas version - seems to be a bit more expensive
