I'm staying in Speddoch with my wife and young boys for a couple of weeks and will hopefully sneak out to do a few of the stanes, but is there any local riding to be done?

Not much of note in that area that I know of, plenty of fire road bashing, and SUW not far away.

We were out last night for a couple of hours in the hills up the road from Ae(above Thornhill)
Some short but tough rides around Wanlockhead, cafe and mines for kids. Train along at Leadhills if it's running.
Tuesday night ride @Ae shop if you fancy a couple of hours "enduro" riding 😉 If your on FB have a look at shop page, usually someone going out but there are a few "private" groups
Tues & Thurs nights for Mabie "enduro"
A fair bit of the hill rides I do include some 😉 hike'bike on trails that don't exist or are just off a "track" on the map to make up a route.....
