For around £175 or less?
Off on jollies in January & just want to take a smallish camera & not the DSLR with associated lenses etc.
Ta.

You'd struggle to get much better than a Panasonic Lumix TZ18 for something with a big zoom, that remains compact around your budget.

Jessops have it for £180, but with £25 cashback from Panasonic, so £155 all in.

EDIT - as above, if you can stretch to the TZ20, it has GPS so you can keep track of where you actually took your pics.

Just got the TZ20 from amazon - £185.

BUT - it's going back. Terrible picture quality - really noisy at all ISOs. My 6 year old Sony cycbershot is way better.

Now looking at the Canon S95 - but it's expensive.

If you're interested in second hand I've got a nearly-new TZ7 here... Depends on your definition of big zoom I suppose, it's 12x. I'm too much of a snapper so ended up going for a smaller Ixus for pocketability.

best camera i sell around that price is the samsung wb700, 18x shneider(sic) optics should get it for less than £150 is you look hard enough. i myself have the older wb500 and i'm very happy with it.
