Hello. Just wondering if there's many other people with hose rub under the bottombracket from the rear brake hose on their Strive or Spectral?

My friend and I have the same bikes with the same hose rub groove.

I've deflated the shock and the hose contacts the frame at full compression. The normal hose position has the hose around 10-12mm from the groove.

To me it looks like the hose entry point on the chainstay is wrongly positioned as if it was slightly further along the stay or angled differently it wouldn't contact.

Can't find much info online regarding this issue with Canyon bikes but it appears Specialized changed their routing for 2017 to avoid this.

I assume you're talking about the gear outer cable rather than a brake hose as the hoses all route external on mine. The outer for the rear mech goes under the BB shell and then into the drive side chainstay. It sound like this bit of hose is too short. It's a complete piece inside the chainstay, so can't you just push some back from the rear mech and make is loser under the BB?

Yes common problem, just stick some protective tape there and one of those rubber protector things on the cable

I noticed mine rubbing fairly soon after getting the bike so was able to address it before it got any worse than just a cosmetic mark, mainly as there is loads of similar experiences throughout this pinkbike thread

I have one of these on the exposed bit of cable outer over the BB, has stopped all rubbing

My Strive is internally routed all the way with the hose exiting the down tube and entering the non drive side chainstay. Thought the Spectral was the same. I've tried pulling it out but after a ride it's the same story with roughly the same length of hose there I.e around 135-140mm between the hose guides. Been to a shop and they've said stick a bit of tape on it but that doesn't solve the problem. That's what Canyon have said as well. Being told it's hose rub and that's part of biking however they're drawing on that term in reference to cable rub which isn't the same. With the introduction of suspension and the impacts that the hose takes as it hits off the frame you've introduced a whole other variable. If it was a car and the brake hose was rubbing once the suspension compressed or the steering was turned full lock there would be hell on.
