Why does my saddle creak? I have a Charge Spoon saddle on a Santa Cruz Heckler. I clean my bike after every ride (mostly), but i have a creaky saddle. It's very annoying, and the even more annoying thing is that my previous bike had the same issue (ragley piglet, different saddle(can't remember which)). Any advice on how to eliminate this problem? Am I living up to my membership name? Am I just too fat and overweight to be a mountain biker, I'm 13.5 stone, 6ft 1in and 47 years old. I can't give up mountain biking so have i just got to get on with it and creak my way around every trail i ride, aaaaaarrrrrgh! What a dilemma. Bugger.

Do you have it a long way back or forward? I usually have mine quite far back and often get creaks, which also drive me up the wall. In fact I've just pinched the saddle off MrsSalmon's bike to try and rule out yet another saddle-related noise!

Check the little screws on the underneath are tight, clean out & lube where the rails to into the saddle.

Might not be saddle, could be seat post rail clamp bolts. With a strip and grease of it all.

Unless of course you've already checked those!
