Right, just got my new Stans 355 rims ready to go on my bike, just wondering if there is a MUCH cheaper, yet similarly effective, alternative to the ridiculously priced yellow tape that Stans sell?

Anyone with any experience of anything else that worked? Or even that didn't... Cheers in advance!

There's a 3M tape that fits the bill apparently, but I can't remember which one.

Still, its been mentioned on here a few times, so I expect someone we be along with the proper name.

Why gaffa, then electrical tape, then gaffa again?

Wouldn't just a couple of layers of electrical tape suffice?

insulating tape pokes through the spoke holes overtime and becomes unreliable ime
think gaffa tape would be better, try pound shop for some rip off stuff, not tried it myself but might be better option
using yellow tape myself these days..
