[#3753655]

I am looking for an Alfine commuter, or a bike I can convert to Alfine

It's got to be classic looking, as clean as possible

I really like the look of the Kona Band Wagon, but the rear spacing is 120mm

There is also the Pace 4216, which again is singlespeed, but thats the kind of style I am searching for

Singular Peregrine?

In my wife's words (who doesn't cycle) "that looks like a proper bike"

Mine runs an Alfine without a problem, comfortable to ride, looks great. What else do you want?

Pompetamine here to. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. Love the fact I built it to be robust and dependable and it is that, has survived all winter with limited TLC and hasn't even complained with a puncture, plus it's relatively cheap. I hate the fact it feels dead and draggy to ride and seems to suck energy from me with every pedal stroke. Can't wait til I don't need the lights anymore and can jump back on my geared commuter.

Might give Alfine Di2 a go on it though when it comes out..... like I said - love/hate relationship 😉

I nicked drofluf's bike. I have a Singular Peregrine with Alfine as a bombproof commuter (it weighs like it would surivive).

ir_bandito had a pimpin' Peregrine as well.

All very classic and stately looking 8)

do a forum search to find pictures of both.

http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/cross/day-01/day-01-alfine ftw. I really want one of these. I would probably sell all my other road bikes for one.

The roadrat is a decent bike, its just not for me

I was considering a day 01, but now I want something more classic looking

The peregrine is definitely in the right direction

All these look lovely, but I either can't get hold of them or they have 120mm hub spacing

You could go with a 5 speed normal or wide ratio SA hub gear in 120mm
