So I’m in a weird position of having a set of 2023 Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate D1 that I want to increase travel from 150mm to 160mm, and a set of OEM Yari from the CRC fire sale that I want to convert from 160 to 150.
I’ve picked up a new 160mm air spring for the Lyrik with Buttercup and I can’t see why I can’t drop the 150mm Lyric air shaft in the Yari? Rockshox don’t list them as being compatible but the air spring is hardly a complex piece of tech and the design of the legs seems to be the same so why shouldn’t it work?
Obviously I could just give it a go but it’s a bit of a faff if there is a good reason that I’m missing which means it won’t work, will destroy the forks and result in certain death.
So guys and gals …. Enlighten me.
Pretty sure it’s due to the shape of the interface at the bottom of the lowers. Think the newer forks have more space to accommodate the buttercups. Yari is still the old design for the A1-C1 air shafts and feet.
I would agree with Clubby, 23 Lyrik lowers are different from previous Lyrik and Yari ones. I might have a spare 150 Lyrik (pre 23) one if it helps
I can confirm that 2023 air assemblies are not backwards compatible with earlier models. I have all sizes in stock if you need a 150 Yari assembly.
There's debonair+ springs for without buttercup models, are they compatible with older lyrik/ yari forks.
