Hiya,
I am riding at Afan on Friday and wanted a more intersting ride than the one Skyline has to offer.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a route guide for W2 that a friend told me about?
I see lots of chat about it on other forums but can't find a route guide.
Can anyone help please and is the ride any good?
Thanks

W2 is signposted from either Afan or GC. No need for a map.

Cheers guys, it's been a while since I have been there and didn't realise it was marked. Is it as hard as people say?

Not hard in my opinion. The Wall climb is effing boring mind.

You know you have been out on a good ride though.

N.B. Guys?

I can get round W2 in 2hrs 30, so it's not hard and I'm old and fat.

Is that on your KTM?

No, it's on a Coilair. Skyline takes 2:45.

Do: Start at The Wall, so you get to stop at glyncorrwg for lunch

Don't: eat loads of scrambled eggs on toast at glyncorrwg, making you feel violently sick while climbing Whites Level.

We are looking to drag out a ride for about 5 - 6 hours so it looks like W2 followed by Skyline. Joxster, under 3 hours for Skyline is a cracking pace.

If you can do W2 and the skyline back to back in 5 hours I'll be amazed!

W2 is a good route and breaks up the boring sections of the Wall well, the traverse is boring but flat and quick. We did a few weeks ago and started from glyncorrwg and did Penhydd in the middle. You could equally do it in the other direction and do the full Skyline or July in the middle. You want to be fresh enough to enjoy the Skyline descent so I wouldn't have it as the last trail of the day.
