Hello! Spending a few days in Galloway and tomorrow is possible the sunniest day of the coming week. Could somebody help me deciding between going either to Ae forest or Glentrool+Merrick ! Which one will be the most rewarding on a sunny day with great views!

Galloway local here, Merrick was one of my fav hills and done it dozens of times over the years but given the mwis forecast for tmorn I’d give it a wide berth, with the windchill, wind strength, chance of heavy rain/sleet on the summit you’d be foolhardy to consider it without local knowledge. If the weather sets in it’s the last place you want to find yourself

Loch Trool is stunning no matter the weather, even if you don’t go up the Merrick.
