Has anyone tried the Adreani Piston Kit upgrade? New bike has a Fox 36 Rhythm with a GRIP damper. The GRIP2 damper is frighteningly expensive so I'm exploring my options before throwing money at forks I've never ridden...

Am I right in thinking that the GRIP damper is better than the MoCo in a Yari?

I have a set of Yari with a Charger 2.1 RC2 damper on my Rail which I could swap over but I don't want drop the suspension performance too much on that as it's a bit of a tank.

I have it in an older Fox- a set of 36s with the RC2. Jtech recommended it as a particularly good combination, basically removes the biggest drawback of the RC2, and they were right- it was a big upgrade. But that's probably quite flattering to the damper

The Grip damper's really pretty nice as long as you can get a setting you like with the limited adjustability it has. I couldn't, sadly, but I was impressed with the overall feel if not the adjustment. Try it first!

I had it put in an RS charger 1. It was better, but I'd probably not pay to have it done again.

I had it in some older fox 36's, pre grip dampers, and it was a big upgrade in feel.

Ride the new fork and decide if it is working for you. If so, no need to worry about spending more cash...if it doesn't work then you have an idea of what you'll be wanting to fix so a better idea of how much.

I had an Adreani cartridge kit in a track motorbike and it was pretty good. They are part of the same group that own Ohlins for what thats worth.

Stick with the GRIP for now - its really very very good considering its Foxs 'low end' option. dont jump to the assumption that you will automatically need to upgrade it.

From my experience its another league better than a RS MOCO damper.
