Adjustable Stem for Turbo Trainer.

I'm guessing that the thing I'm looking for doesn't exist, as all my googlery has not found anything:

We have a old road bike on a turbo trainer. The bike is fine for me, normal size and shape 1.75m bloke. However, Mrs Seadog can't use it as the reach is far too long. Saddle height can be lowered sufficiently, but the bars are just too far away.

All adjustable stems I have found so far are of the rotate up and down type. This type mean the bars go from normal position, to far too high and roated to a silly angle.

Are there any stem arrangements that can fit a regular steerer, and allow the bars to be just moved for and aft? Probably need a 100mm adjustment range. The bike never gets used off the trainer, so something that doesn't work for road use is fine.

Second set of bars and a stem in the wife's preferred position. Will look a bit odd and do you need a rear brake ?

Bit of a hassle swapping over shifters reach time though. Unless you only do erg mode workouts and therefore only need 1 gear.

Your other option might be a set of bars with multiple hand positions.

Or maybe (you might want to take cover before suggesting this) something like this, only mounted horizontally.

2 alternative solutions to an adjustable stem that might work:

1. A spare seatpost with a saddle mounted in a more forward position. Cost £15?

2. A (spendy) redshift dual position seatpost that moves the saddle 5cm closer to the bars. (£130 second hand on eBay)

What mashr and scotroutes have turned up is just the thing, but about £50 more than I was hoping for!

For and aft saddle adjusting will mess up the pedal position relative to the saddle.

Tandem stoker stem is a good shout also.

SJS have some tandem stoker stems for about £30. One extends at a 40 degree angle so probably not much help but the others look like a pole that you then fix a short stem to.
If you give them a ring they may know how to get them to work.
