Anyone know if and when Crank Brothers or Superstar will have an alernative to gravity dropper.

There's a non-remoter version of the GD. If you're worried about looks, you can remove the rubber gaiter (and suffer the same reliability problems as the CB/SS ones).

But the remote is almost the entire point... it's what makes these posts so damn revolutionary and useful! And I don't really find the GD that ugly tbh. I've had mine for 2 years now, no service necessary apart from a cable replacement. You find me someone with a Joplin or Speedball that has had th same trouble free operation... bet you can't!

Sette is no good. Too many bad reviews. GD without remote doesn't look as useable as office chair lever under seat type. Don't want another cable so hence no remote. Also had a speedball and had no real problems but changed bike and it won't fit.
