Went out today with baby in child seat. About 6 miles from home I got a puncture. Put my new spare tube in only to have the valve snap in half whilst inflating. Walking the 6 miles home pushing bike, baby and in newish cycling shoes was not fun in the least. Blisters ahoy!

Deepest sympathies I once had to ride 8 miles with no inner tube - that is like resistanc training- and it was mainly uphill dont believe the stories grass is rubbish.
dont believe the stories grass is rubbish.
smoke it and the 8 miles will go in a happy daze ๐
dont mix with child care duties though kids
I always find the worst bit is when the kid starts crying and you realise you turned the bike upside down with him still in the seat.
Not enough rubber tubing for the second time.....do you never learn ! ๐
I done a 40 mile road ride on Tuesday (on my road bike). Got 3 punctures and did not enjoy one second of it, The other road users hate you,do not give you enough room,it was also noisy and too busy. I will not be going road riding again (would rather go on a turbo trainer at least when I got fed up I would not be 20 miles from the house)
Snapped valve? Let me guess: Presta?
They have no place on an MTB or anything other than a road bike where you have no choice.....
I did a 40 mile road ride today and f*****g loved it! It was one of those grab it while you can rides (missus was in a good mood) so off I went. Was a bit chilly to start, and pretty windy all the way round, but some lovely lanes with very little traffic.
I feel like I've hardly ridden for two years (young kids, busy busy!), got out on the HT for an hour or so twice last week but nothing very long. This has invigorated me no end and I can't wait to get out again.
Sorry for my smugness but I'm still quite excited, if a little tired ๐
