I'm just back from The Alps where I rode some of the Tour Du Mt Blanc around Col de Balme, Les Houches and the Chamonix Valley, only the grotty weather and snowed-up higher passes put me off doing the whole Tour. I was using Panracer Cinders and they were well up to the job on rock, turf, scree and snow. Plenty of traction when doing the steep climbs and not too heavy to boot. They were not as bad on tarmac as some say either. They also took the corners with ease on the tight DH switchbacks. I didn't wipe out once, which is rare for me. I'm keeping them on my bike from now on and in the absence of having tried every single tyre on the market I'd make Cinders my first choice if I was off to Alps again and all the ski lifts were closed.
