there seems to be few of these about now. need 50/36 x 170 double for mrs g road bike will 10 speed set be ok with 9 spd cassette and chain? dont want to change shifters££ thanks. any deals on?

Yeah. I went 10-speed with a 9-speed set of chainrings so I assume the reverse is kosher.

Be absolutely fine, you can use an 11 speed one if you want.
