I seem to remember seeing some pics on a thread a long time ago showing a standard on-one inbred frame with 700c size wheels, I think you can just fit them in, can anyone confirm? Thanks! I have one and some 29'er carbon forks and I'd like to try the set up with an alfine for my commuter.

Yes you can - not sure how big you can go tyre-wise.

Handling likely to be a little slow, though you could put a 26" front wheel on?

Yes, I have a 23c tyre on the back and there is still a lot of room there. A 700c wheel is a similar size to a 26" wheel with a knobbly tyre on

Don't bother with the 29er fork, the 26er fork will be long enough and you will not be slackening you HA.

Great thanks. I already have the bike running the 29'er fork with 26" wheels so I don't think adding the 700c wheels will change the angles much. Should work well.

mine didnot fit witha 35mm land cuiser tyre, suspect fine up to 28 slick though, a front 700 will fit in the 26 inch rigid fork
