Cracking site and very close to Dalbeattie

edit: missed the fire bit. Doubtful at Kippford but I'd sacrifice the fire for the excellent site.

We stopped in the camping pods at Gorsebank in Dalbeatie, about half a mile down the road from the trail-head.

They were very welcoming, great facilities, bike storage, showers, washing/drying room, and each pod has facilities for a BBQ and a fire pit.

Would definitely stay there again, we had a great time, fantastic riding.

Was at Kippford last summer, thought it was very pricey and you are squeezed in on the camping pitches, also lots of paperwork for a campsite when you arrive.

+1 for Beeswing. A fantastic little campsite. We rode 3 of the 7 actually riding from the campsite whilst based there. Did a couple of others as car assist then relocated to Peebles to do Glentress & Innerlethin.
