Lots of new stuff coming out, but my friend is looking for something a bit newer than his 2004 Marin frame but still "around" the 120mm travel range but not too expensive (so not that new). Doesn't have to be freeride slack but something a little less XC orientated, though still light would be nice.

I have a SC Superlight (115mm fork), and do not think this is laidback in the slightest, the Giant Trance frame's are my first thought but aren't light and aren't seemingly that laidback until you put at 140mm fork on it.. so what else is there?
Any thoughts, as he checking out a Reign frame on eBay which I think is about as daft an option for him, as is possible.

greeble, did you start drinking early, you seem to have far too much fun by yourself.

ASR maybe a tad too niche to get hold of cheaply, rize is interesting, though I'd prefer (suggest) a Prophet SL, if possible as an alternative. Trouble with any of these is he'll need a small, so will struggle what ever he goes after...
