Buying a bike with 2bliss tyres, a spesh pitch pro.

a) what sealent, I've a bottle of JRA wheel milk, but its years old so must be off by now.
b) presumably ghetto'ing the rims with electrical tape will work?

Any sealant you want and yes electrical tape will prove to be a suitable rim strip.

Has it dried out/separated/gone lumpy? If not then it's fine.

Possibly, but such solutions are just a recipe for hassle in my experience. Use a UST rim and your 2-bliss tyres will go on and off very easily and go up using any old pump.

I 'tubelessed' the 2Bliss tyres on my Stumpy FSR - Purgatory on the front & Captain on the back. It was dead easy.

Only problem I had was trying Spesh Airlock sealant, which was rubbish.

I used electrical tape - a loop over to one edge, a loop over to the other edge and a final loop in the middle. I used Wickes electrical tape in red, as everyone knows red is the fastest.

The valve lockring needed a bit of tightening with pliers to get them to seal properly.

Once that was done, the tyres went up without sealant with just a track pump. When I was happy that they were actually going up, I stuck the sealant in (I ended up using Stans) and they were fine.

Recently the front refused to stay inflated, but it hadn't been used for a while and seemed a bit low on sealant. I stuck a squidge more sealant in & sloshed it round loads and 3 weeks later it's still fine.

The only problem I've had with them, is that the Purgatory on the front is quite a loose fit (easily on & off with no levers) & it's burped a couple of times when running fairly low pressure and I've come a cropper. I now keep them up at about 35psi. I only converted them to avoid thorn punctures in Spain, so am not bothered about using them at low pressures.

Glad someone does....

Your post was possibly lacking a 'BOOM BOOM'??

You are aware that "2Bliss" is the name Specialized use for their tubeless compatible range of tyres, aren't you??

I've been using the Specialized Airlock sealant. It seems to do the job although I am getting a small amount bleeding through the sidewalls, though I think this is down to the 2bliss tyres rather than the sealant.
