Picked up some Maxxis beavers for my 29er (2nd bike and I want tyres that will work on everything from cycle paths to gloopy mud). The wire ones are quoted as 620g V 545g for folding but it turns out they are 700g. Steve @ nextdaytyres (big thumbs up to customer service btw) weighed the folders for me and they came in at a real weight of 590g so 110g is quite a big drop for the extra £.

Options - stop worrying as 700g is that bad? Get the folders? Get something else as they don't have the weight benefit I had hoped for after all so may as well get something fatter that weighs similar?

it's a mud tyre.

save lightweight tyres for summer.
