I was considering getting a 29er for general riding and the odd marathon event. I have narrowed it down to a Trek Fuel Ex, Scott Spark or Whyte M109. Anyone had much time on any of these? Where I am based test rides are hard to come by.

I've posted before about my 109c ,both the 109 and 109c are priced dropped at cycle surgery ,I took a gamble on the C as it was the last in the store ,I'm glad I did I love it ,I didn't think it would be as much fun as my HT Cube but it proved itself again yesterday ,keeping up with the guys with a lot more travel than me , very chuckable and fast rolling

Thanks for the reply, I saw your thread and it is why I have included the Whyte on the list; Is tyre clearance an issue?

It came fitted with Maxis Ikons which in this weather wont cut it ,so I changed to Purgitorys 2.3, no problem with clearance after yesterday covered in snow and ,mud )
