Hi guys

Looking at various options for a lightish 29er race bike. It will be a hardtail.

It's a pipeline thing at the moment so lets see some pics of what are you all racing at the moment along with approx weight & spec please to give me some ideas/inspiration.

Cheers

It's got some better brakes on it now and the wheels are looking a little roughed up but this is basically it. ~ 17 lbs of fun.

Same as Rocketdog (and Sam I suppose) here - in my garage once Sam beats the Italian couriers into submission.

Yep.
It might tear your legs off and explode your lungs in doing so, but it'll definitely make you uber fast 😀

Forgot to say. Not ss as I'm not fit/strong enough & not Ti as my pockets are not that well endowed !

Anyone else ?

That leaves the Scandal and the Swift then? I raced a Scandal for over 2 years. Loved it wish I hadn't sold it. One day I will probably buy a carbon one.

I now have a 456 69er which is close to twice the weight. Still fun to thrash though!

i love my scandal; it is singlespeed but it works well with gears too. tis very light frame.

what forks is a much tougher question...

Hi Sam,

and speaking as a happy Singular Swift owner, i think the tyre, wheel and fork combo in terms of 'looks' does the Pegasus a disservice.

I've had a Swift and wouldn't mind another but being i take an XL frame feel it makes the bike quite heavy compared to alloy ones 😕

Saw a few Pegasus's at last weekends Bonty and they do look nice, just a shame i can't afford one 😥

You are so right martinh but the concept store in London said I was the only person to ask about 1 last month which is why I had to do it myself

Salsa El Mariachi Ti or Mamasita? A few good pics on the website. I've had my Mamasita for a year, and it's never been off the podium - quite a record!

No, it was a pair with reflex road rims which collapsed. These are Reynolds and they've been solid - in fact Gareth raced them to 6th at ssec.
