Sorry silly question but getting my charge blender next week and can't find seat clamp size. Seat post is 27.2mm. I curently have a seat clamp for a 30mm seat post, would it fit?
I would phone Charge, that's the safest bet.
Although you know the seatpost diameter, the clamp size depends on the thickness of the seat tube. Could be 31.8, but on a steel frame the tube is likely to be thinner than an alloy one, so maybe the 30mm one will fit. Although that's if it's for a 30mm seat tube, not seat post.
But check with Charge, they'll know!
Click on the Geometry link on the Blender page and it shows the size.
30mm for steel, 31.8mm for the ti
is it not the same size as the front mech clamp size?
It's not the same for the mech. clamp on my 853 Inbred, which takes a 29.8mm seat clamp and a 28.6mm front mech clamp. It's down to the butting possibly.
I think PJ has it..... butting seems a sensible answer.
I used to have a steel frame with 28.6mm front mech. I ended up buying a 28.6mm seatpost qr, as I didn't know any different, and 30mm ones weren't made. To be fair, it fitted well! took it off when I sold the old frame.
I've now got a 30mm qr on my new frame, 28.6mm Hope qr anyone????
Q
how much for the 28.6?
Umm.... £10 posted? or will negotiate! At the end of the day, it has to go.
It's only been used for 3 days at Centreparcs, in case anyone in the family wanted to tweak the saddle quickly. It's genuinely 'as new', and in black.
If you want, email me at quintoncumbesATtiscali.co.uk and i can send you pic's.
cheers
