[Closed] £250 (ish) to buy a 1st MTB

A friend of mine is looking for his 1st "proper" bike. He borrowed my second bike for a bit but it's a bit big for him (he needs a 17/18").

He's hoping to be able to get someting for about the £250 mark (new to him)

I've suggested a Spesh Rockhopper/Hardrock or a Giant XTC4. Have seen all of these on The Bay for around the £250/£300 mark.

Would like one in NE England ideally so he (and possibly I) can go view & collect.

Any suggestions for alternative models or places to look?

And, yes, I will be putting a want ad in the classifieds 🙂
