I'm looking to build some xc 24" wheels with disc's then fit hope mini's. has anyone got any suggestions on the best rims?

you will have to get some dirt jump rims. i would say any of the atom lab range are good as are dmr.
Try CRC's wheel build options; I had a pair of 24" built up for my son - they are light(ish), as he is, but not XC really as the rims are quite wide.
Subrosas or Pimplites, both about 560g IIRC

I have a pair of nearly new (not a mark) hope pro 2 hubs on Sunn Rhyno lite 24 inch rims for sale.
They are about the lightest build you can get on 24s without going silly
Bought for a dirt jump bike but decided to stick with 26s.
