[Closed] 24 / 36 front mech advice for my OnOne 29er scandal

I'm running a 36t outer on my scandal.. The bike's got a SRAM X9 front mech but I can't get the mech anywhere near low enough to the outer chainring without the cable guide bit contacting the chain when in some gears.
Does anybody happen to have similar setup with a better front mech?

NB: The crank is an XTRM960 with the outer arms trimmed down, and the middle ring is a steel deore with the BCD taken out slightly with a dremel to fit on the 106mm BCD of the XTR crank. Thus saving £ on the xtr rings).
