My Wotans have died 🙁

Are there any good deals out there on 160mm forks at the moment?

Their site appears to be down... Don't suppose you have a contact number perchance?

Mmm, out of interest how did the Wotans die? I have a set kicking around in my garage that i took off my tracer, they went a bit stiff in their action and wasnt that happy with them thereafter.

Yeah, what's happened to your Wotans - I love mine.

There was an issue with then last year but was sorted by Magura.

Surely they can be fixed, they're such a good fork.

The upper disc mount cracked.

It's a shame because I grew to really like them, but there aren't any deals on Wotans right now. This time two months ago you could pick them up for £400 if you shopped around.

What sort of condition are yours in?

Mine are in good nick as far a i can tell, if you fancy them let me know and there yours if you want them (i'll need to check the steerer length though, i leave them fairly long mind).) I suspect they need a service though.

Servicing Wotans takes about 10 minutes and you don't even need to take the forks off the bike.

Did the brake mount just crack or was it operator error?

As far as I can tell it just cracked, there's no reason for it to be operator error as both bolts were torqued the same. Apparently it's a common issue with Wotans.

i have fitted some wotans to my pitch in the last week or two. i have to say i am very impressed. i am a bit concerned about there lack of stiction however compared to other air forks. it feels like there is something loose. ie they sag a few mm just under the weight of the bike with no rider. is this normal?

Yep, it's normal in my experience too.

Wotans are REALLY progressive - the 1st 1.5 inches of travel are buttery smooth. The seals are really smooth too. That's one reason why they're such great forks - massive traction on bumpy stuff at speed. Proposterously stiff too.
