Random musings, is the space between gears the same across brands/disciplines 12 speed cassettes? Eg, SRAM eagle MTB Vs Shimano Road?

Yes. I’ve got XTR/XD/XDR/Ingrid and they all work the same in terms of cassettes. I can swap wheels between the two MTBs or cassettes between the NTB and Gravel bike. I’m told FlatTop chains are required for XPLR cassettes, but the flattop chain also seems to work fine with the Ingrid cassette.
