Don't have a login but it appears to be that Brompton is now the UK's largest bike manufacturer, and is exporting a lot of bikes to China. Both of which I knew anyway TBH.

There used to be Raleigh only bike shops, bit like a motor dealership.

The only bikes I saw as a kid were Raleigh or Sun/Carlton. They were made just up the road though.
