BNG and new spec sheets for the 2022 Canyon Neuron:ON range plus a more affordable option. The Canyon Neuron:ON 6 set to retail from £3,749.

The 130mm travel is on the modest side for the potential rigours of electric mountain biking. But Canyon seemingly sell plenty of these to folk who keep to the gentler side of trail biking.

There’s nothing modest about the motor and battery options on the Neuron:ON bikes.

The motor is Shimano’s flagship EP8 which offers 85Nm off torque. Or “quadruple the rider;’s power” according to Canyon.

There are actually two batteries used on the Neuron:ON range. The larger frame sizes accept 630Wh batteries (on the M-XL). Smaller frame sizes get 504Wh batteries (XS-S bikes).

Whilst not technically very er, technical, we do like the colourways that Canyon has opted to go with on the new Neuron:ON range.

As with all contemporary Canyon mountain bikes, electric or otherwise, the Neuron:ON features their Triple Phase Suspension concept. This basically hopes to offer a sensitive suppleness around sag point, moving into a supportive mid-stroke, and finishing off the travel with a progressive firmness.

The different frame sizes of the Neuron:ON dictates what the wheel size(s) is offered. The XS-S sizes get 27.5in wheels. M-XL are full 29in wheelers.

Still singletrack-able

As with any direct sales brand, the spec sheet is a vital piece of the package. New stuff of note include FSA Comet cockpits and Fizik Terra Alpaca saddles.

I think those specs can cost the same for bikes without motors from some brands. But I’d want to be very clear about how the warranty works before buying an e-bike online. Currently own a canyon. But I thought the chances of needing to use the warranty weren’t that high on an acoustic bike

130mm is about right for most of the people who use an ebike round by me.
they are quite majestic when you see a herd of them
