Surly Midnight Special – collection only from Swindon, Wilts
It’s a 54cm frame, covered in gaffa tape to protect from bikepacking bags, hence the sticky residue in some pics. Sep up with shimano hubs, dynamo on the front, and 650b DT rims. Tyres are fantastic Terravails.
grx 11 speed rear mech, with 11-42 shimano cassette. Shifters are 105 11 speed mechanical. Chainset is a deore one with 38t Hope chainring – I’d get a new chainset and bigger chainring if I was keeping it.
brakes are
brakes are awful, horrible to adjust, cheap things my lbs had going spare – what on earth possessed anyone to think that direct mount was a good idea! I have adapters for real brakes, eg BB7, definitely worth changing these brakes at some point for BB7 or similar, but you may like them as they are.
