Reader’s Ride: Dez B’s Transition Throttle

This submission from Dez B fell down the back of our server sofa but it’s still well worthy of RRing!

Transition Throttle

Why this bike?

After a demo a few years ago, loved the bike, but as they were pretty pricy never thought I’d own one. Lately my heart issues have meant I’m not getting the most out of my full sus bike, so started looking for something lighter. Saw this beauty on Pinkbike and found it also advertised on Facebook and it was fairly local. Checked it out and the bike was immaculate and really well specced, so made the purchase. Bike looked like it had never been taken offroad! Was setup for a shorter rider, so I had to change the dropper, stem and bars. Now rides extremely well, and climbing is great.

Fork

Fox 34 Performance. For my 90Kgs, found 100psi about right. Have removed all tokens as fork was ramping up too much. Still not completely right, but as it was new from the seller, I think it needs a bit of bedding in.

  1. Aww, so pretty. Speaking as TheMemberFormerlyKnowasDezB! I wonder where it is now… After a while I gave in that the frame was too small for me and sold it on. Pity because it was a lovely ride. Most of the parts now hang off a nice purple Commencal hardtail (29er). I’ll send that as an update 🙂 I’m not all about the ebike! My son reminded me on the weekend that he had to persuade me to get an ebike, cos I refused to give in to it. Good lad.
Wonder if there are any large Throttles out there for sale … hmm
