Daren Austin OBE, known on the Forum as TiRed, is the winner of the ‘Best Use of Lockdown’ award in this year’s Singletrack Reader Awards, in association with Kona. He has spent the past couple of years patiently explaining complicated Covid information to people on the Forum, while at the same time doing some very serious bits of work at national policy level to help inform the Government’s response to the pandemic.
When he was nominated for the award, we had a chat with him for a short podcast. Only, he had an awful lot of very interesting stuff to say, which couldn’t all be squeezed in to the 10 minute slot we had for each of the nominees. So, we’re publishing the full length version now, so you can appreciate a bit more about just how complicated all this Covid science and forecasting is. For those who have wondered why the Forum is so often the source of surprisingly expert information, it’s because it’s made up of lots of individuals like TiRed, who come to the Forum because they like bikes, but bring with them a wealth of knowledge from other areas of their lives.
Help us make our podcasts even better
Congratulations again to Daren for winning this award, and thank you for his (continuing) contributions to the Forum.
