Fox Spring back into action after the Easter break with a new Fox 34 GRIP 2 and important updates to the Fox Transfer dropper post.
Fox 34 GRIP 2
With the ever-growing popularity in ‘down country’ bikes, or in other words, lightweight and capable trail bikes, Fox have announced a new GRIP 2 version of the Fox 34.
That’s correct, Fox 34 riders who were looking for the same damper performance as the larger Fox 36 now have that option without going for the larger and slightly heavier fork. Just as we saw with the new Fox 38 and Fox 36, the new Fox 34 GRIP 2 will also benefit from the Variable Valve Control (VVC) damping controls for high-speed compression. This a more gradual damper progression for improved ride control.
Not every Fox 34 will be GRIP 2, the Fit 4 will remain an option too. Fox 34 forks will be offered in 120-140mm travel options and will be available through Silverfish in the UK by Mid May.
2021 Fox Transfer Dropper
The new Fox Transfer Dropper post has been retooled and redesigned for MY21 with a new saddle clamp design for easier installation, and better adjustment for ‘modern’ (read steeper) seat tube angles.
The new clamp design also offers more clearance on the dropper stanchion allowing the MY21 Dropper to lower further, helping riders get the most from their posts. In addition to the more compact clamp design, Fox has managed to reduce the overall shaft height too, meaning that the new post is between 30-50mm shorter than the older version for the same amount of travel.
This could allow riders to run even longer drop posts than before. If 150mm was your max before, the new changes could allow you to move up to a longer 175mm dropper.
Fox has also made updates to the 1x lever for MY21. The machined alloy lever now has a larger bearing and is compatible with both I-SPEC EV and Matchmaker systems for a cleaner cockpit.
Silverfish is also your goto for the new Fox Transfer which should also be available from Mid-May.
We hope to have both the new 34 GRIP 2 and Transfer in soon for a first look.
