Flamboyant Frenchman, Cedric Gracia announces his move away from Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz has lost another of its larger than life celebrities this week with news that Cedric Gracia will lave the company. Gracia announced in an Instagram post that he will miss riding for Santa Cruz and miss the family that he has there but being an “entrepreneur” he feels the need to move on.
“I’m Cedric Gracia, and this is me speaking from my heart to say thank you.
Thank you @santacruzbicycles for what is almost a whole life with who have been really true to me in the good and especially in the bad moments. You began being my friends and turned out to be a big, massive family, and that in itself is a tremendous thing. Be sure that I will miss every single one of the Santa boys; without you I would never be who I am today.
Rob Roskopp, you’re more than a brother, you’re an idol to me and this will remain forever. I’ve loved all my time in there and in fact never felt this as a job. You know this is perhaps one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to take, but I’m an entrepreneur and so I have to fly again.
Today is time to say goodbye, but goodbyes suck so I’d rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure.”
We reached out to a few of our sources who tell us that Cedric will continue to ride this year and will, in fact, retain some of the same sponsors he has now, but they assured us that we would never be able to guess who he will be riding for.
Apparently CG is joining a new company, which suggests to us that the fantastic, flying, Frenchman might be doing an “Atherton” and could be working on creating a brand of his own perhaps with one of his long-standing sponsors such as Probikeshop, the European equivalent of Chain Reaction Cycles, and who as far as we can tell doesn’t already have it’s own in house bike brand.
Hopefully, we won’t have too long to wait to hear and see what CG is up to but in the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas on this news.

Another bar?
Anyone so self-absorbed and pretentious as to willingly describe himself as an “entrepreneur” deserves a lifetime of broken chains and flat tires.
