Calibre Bossnut Evo

  • Price: £999
  • From: GoOutdoors
We tested the V.2 the Evo gets a 1x drivetrain and stealth dropper routing

The Calibre Bossnut won the best bike under £1000 award in 2017, and it’s hardly surprising that the updated model has wowed readers again for 2018 but in the sub £1500 category. Starting with a tough alloy frame that features hydroformed tubes, the Bossnut EVO is stocked with an air-sprung RockShox suspension package that delivers 130mm of travel front and rear. Progressive geometry sees a long front centre and slack head angle employed for descending stability, making this a confident starting point for new riders, or a speed-friendly bike for more experienced riders.

Genesis Longitude 2018

  • Price: £1199
  • From: Madison

A value-packed tough and honest bike from Genesis that can handle more than one wheel size and offers versatility for commuting and bikepacking. The Longitude is the type of bike you can jump on at the end of a hard days work, winch to the top of a mountain and bivvy out for the evening. If big adventures are your bag the Longitude is the bike to own, plus our very own Mr. Love has one.

Sonder Evol NX1 Recon

Evol is “Love” backwards so Sonder definitely got the name of its full-suspension bike correct because you guys seem to love it a lot! The Evol was designed, developed and tested on classic trails around the Peak District, so you can feel pretty confident that this bargain full-bouncer has the goods to get you up, across and down some serious terrain without breaking the bank.
