Intense Launches New Recluse

Intense has released an all-new 2017 140mm carbon trail bike.

The Recluse will join a host of new Intense goodness this year, after the Californian brand launched the new Primer, ACV and Spider 275c earlier in the summer. And apparently it’s not the ‘Recluse’, but more like the ‘Reck-loose’ – it’s named after a spider… Can you see what it’s done there?

This new Intense model, one of many released this year, features 150mm front and 140mm rear travel. It’s intended for hard-charging trail riding, as evidenced by the Fox X2 rear shocks and Fox 36 and Pike forks in the specs. it also sees the release of Intense’s own-brand carbon wheels. It’s a dedicated 27.5in bike, rather than offering any other sort of 29er or Plus compatibility.

Intense is really pushing its brand towards the high-market with the introduction of this new carbon bike. It’s quickly filling in all the gaps in its range this year – and we hear that even more new machines are waiting in the wings. The Primer, ACV and Spider all already include a carbon offering in their line-up and who knows what Intense has planned.

The 27.5in Recluse is available in five builds with prices starting at £4200. Importers Saddleback reckon they’ll have stock of the bikes in the next week or so.
