No thrashing guitars. No grinding bass. Just the buzz of a free hub, chatter of tyres on the track, the tweeting of a bird, and maybe just a hint of a rustle of waterproof jacket. This isn’t your usual Red Bull fare. Part of the Raw 100 series – where film makers are given three rules: it must be 100 seconds long, there can be no slo-mo, and no music – this film is a fresh take on the Freeride/BMX/MTB/AwesomeRadderLouderMore genre that we’ve grown accustomed to.
Filmed on a track in California that hasn’t been used since it creation for the X Games in the early 2000s (no Legacy Plan there then?), it’s a damp, misty setting that is a far cry from the baked desert scenes of Red Bull Rampage.
