The Women’s Sport Trust is a charity which seeks to identify and promote a diverse range of role models in sport, as well as increasing the percentage and quality of coverage for women’s sport in the media.
It has just announced the shortlist for its #beagamechanger awards. Cycling in general is well represented amongst the categories, but Singletrack readers may be particularly interested to see that Traharn Chidley is up for the ‘Imagery of the Year Award’ for the Sealskinz #IAmEndurance video she featured in earlier this year. This award recognises ‘the photograph/s, film or visual campaign that most brilliantly represents women and/or girls in sport. The image/s showcase what women are capable of and help to challenge limiting stereotypes.’
Traharn has just joined the Singletrack team as a contributor – look out for her column on Fair Weather Riders coming soon – and head over to the awards site to vote for her.
Other cyclists featured include the ever enthusiastic Heather Bamforth, founder of the Racing Chance Foundation, who has made a huge difference to the women’s road racing scene, and Helen Wyman, CX racer and advocate for equality in the women’s racing scene. Grit.Cx interviewed Helen in issue 01.
Good luck to all the nominees. If you’ve got a spare moment, why not head over and vote?
