The legendary Steve Peat will be calling an end to his World Cup career this season so why not give him a cheer on his retirement at the sixth annual Steel City downhill race at Grenoside Woods, Sheffield in a couple of weeks?
300 racers will take to the Sheffield course with over 3000 fans watching from the trail-lines.
Registration is closed but you can support the racers and Peaty by heading down on the day to enjoy great scenery, food, drink, music, and of course, the racing.
Here’s what the Peat-meister had to say about this year’s race: “This year’s Steel City Downhill will be awesome. It’s such a great atmosphere for spectators and riders combined – get up there and give the guys a cheer, sample the great food and sink an ale.”
There’ll be stalls on hand from Street Food Chef, Nether Edge Pizza Co., Bradfield Brewery, Whirlow Hall Farm, Adventure Cafe and the Bean Rover all spread along the trail to keep spectators well fed and watered.
The race will take place on the 16th of April and all funds raised will go back to the trails in Greno Woods and to support mountain bike projects around the city.
